Welcome to the Eyeseum

Optical antiquities, oddities and historical artifacts

When I first started my practice, my grandfather (also an optometrist), gave me an antique Copeland retinoscope with patent papers (see below). Since then, throughout the years, hundreds of antique stores, auction houses, flea markets, estate sales, garage sales, eBay, optical historical societies, patients and thrift stores, I have collected and accumulated enough optical paraphernalia to start my own mini museum. I call it The Eyeseum. It is a collection of everything old, unusual and eye related.

Virtually all of the items you see on the website are housed in The Eyeseum. Eyeglass/spectacle cases are our specialty, with eyeglasses/spectacles a close second, but anything cool or unusual that’s eye related, is always fair game. We are constantly updating our website, so check back often! We hope you enjoy our collection, and as always, any criticism, constructive or otherwise, is welcome.
